MARTIN LEWIS - LIVE AT READING!

Martin Lewis will be making a rare live appearance at a literary reading. It will take place on Sunday December 2nd 2001 - in Los Angeles. He has been invited to read his autobiographical short story "Murder He Wrote!" at the prestigious literary salon - Spoken Interludes.

In the past five and a half years this acclaimed monthly gathering has gained a superb reputation for presenting leading writers in an intimate setting where they can read new and cherished works. The salon also presents top actors reading favorite stories. The list of past participants reads like a who's who of literati and actors (see below.)

Martin Lewis' appearance is actually a significant return visit for him. He was one of the very first writers to be presented at Spoken Interludes - making his debut at what was only the second-ever event - in June 1996. In that appearance he premiered "Murder He Wrote!" It was a great success and he was invited to reprise it the following June. In December 1997 he premiered his new work "Oy To The World! - A British-Yiddish Christmas"

"Murder He Wrote!" inspired Lewis' first one-man show - the acclaimed "Great Exploitations!" - which premiered in Los Angeles in January 1999 and was then chosen to be the opening presentation at the new Steven Spielberg Theatre in Hollywood. This year the show was selected for the prestigious 9th Annual Toyota Comedy Festival in New York - where it was a successfully presented at hip, off-Broadway theater PS 122 in June.

Spoken Interludes founder-producer DeLaune Michel personally invited Lewis to make this return visit to perform "Murder He Wrote!"

Also reading the same evening as Lewis are "West Wing" actor Richard Schiff, actress CCH Pounder ("ER") and TV writer/novelist Loraine Despres ("Highlander" and the "Who Shot J.R.?" episode of "Dallas"!)

The salon takes place Sunday December 2nd 2001 - starting at 6:00pm It will be held at The Tempest Supper Club - 7323 Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood (at Fuller between La Brea & Fairfax)
